In the night when bad things wake you
There are always Daddy's arms
There to hold you and to take you
Far away from fear and harm

There to bring you to the bed
And lay you down by Mammy's head

There to hold you as he walks
And softly and ceaselessly, soothingly talks

There to cup your head in hands
That have carried you in many lands

There in Ireland, Sweden, home
So you will never be alone.

Jason is subject (less and less frequently, knock wood) to nightmares which wake him screaming. With a few days - a couple weeks, at most - of bringing Henry home, *he* woke screaming. We'd wondered - who doesn't? - at what babies dream of (we watched the eyes dart under his lids, we've seen him laugh and smile and grab in his sleep), but what could those nightmares be? And do the screams come first, before nightmares?

I've only seen her afraid of one thing, awake - a character in the Baby Mozart DVD. But her night fears sound different.

It's terrible. I want to make it better, and I can't even tell what she's afraid of.
