Ethical consumerism
To market, to market, I rode my high horse
(Because we don't own a car - fossil fuels, of course!)
And trundled my old margarine tubs around
(Re-usable packaging - karma abounds)
And my fingers got dirty with good honest mud
(The ground is all mucky and so is the fud)
And then in the end I weighed it myself
(And packed it as well, like Santa's wee elf)
And paid for my groceries, and walked home in the cold,
So I know it's not MY fault when the planet explodes.
[To explain: We (that is, I) mainly shop at a local cooperative market which does local, organic or fair trade goods, which is fine, except that they are only open near us on a Tuesday evening and it was freezing today].
