I'm most terribly sorry, but it just sort of happened
Please arrange the world for my convenience
Observing civilised, polite amenance.
Cycles and cars should remain on the road
Bipedalists safety and rights don't erode.
Like Horton the Elephant could tell one and all,
A person's a person no matter how small.
So don't walk into children or drop things on prams,
Take care lest the door you are opening slams,
Put ramps in your doorways for persons with wheels,
Label small grilles for the persons with heels,
Say "thank you" and "please" and even "excuse me,"
And don't do it for gratitude - good manners are free.
Eat what you're served but remember to cook
A variety of foods so's your guests don't get crook.
Invite whom you like, but decline with good grace
So that guest and hostess can together save face.
When you have pets make them pleasant for others
Who find the excreta and histamines bother.
And speaking of allergies, let's talk of scents
And of cigarettes, pollen, car pollutents (sorry).
Just because you can, it don't bother you,
Doesn't mean everyone finds the same to be true.
And don't interrupt me, and don't contradict,
And don't let me know you think I'm a bit thick,
And don't patronise me and don't put me down -
Pardon you for just breathing, while I am around!

But wouldn't it be nice if everyone was nice? We could comb each other's fur and eat each other's lice, and rest beside the fire knowing all the other folks were thinking well of others and could also take a joke.
