Weasel words

I'm underprivileged. I have no pool.
My kids don't go to private school.
I'm underprivileged, but that's ok -
I can get by from day to dy.
These folks are poor. They're hungry, cold,
They're going ot die before they're old
They have no jobs, they have no homes.
If they get sick, they're on their own.
I suggest you start to bake
Before you say "Let them eat cake."

Date: 2005-09-07 09:08 am (UTC)I've come to the conclusion that I really detest the term 'underprivileged'.
Privilege is optional; it's a bonus; underprivileged is not having chocolate biscuits.
What these people are is *deprived*; they don't have the basic necessities; and they don't have it because other people have more than they need.
(Mind you, I guess talk of progressive taxation and redistribution to those who need it is some sort of Commie heresy to the likes of Bush.)
