Holding on my lap one
While upstairs two asleep
Wondering why the grown one
Is the one who makes me weep
Wishing I could keep in mind
The baby she once was
To let her seek and build and find
Her own great strengths and loves
Holding on my lap she
The same as those before
I must learn to treat them gently
For they're infants at the core
While upstairs two asleep
Wondering why the grown one
Is the one who makes me weep
Wishing I could keep in mind
The baby she once was
To let her seek and build and find
Her own great strengths and loves
Holding on my lap she
The same as those before
I must learn to treat them gently
For they're infants at the core
